XXXTENTACION of the "Look At Me" Certified Platinum

A loyal fan base, intense live performances, criminal charges, and Drake (allegedly) stealing your flow helped the famous song hit the milestone.

XXXTENTACION of 2017 breakout single "Look At Me" has been certified platinum by the RIAA. Earlier this week, X published a snapshot of the RIAA certification, and captioned the photo, "say what you want, but you will always be forced to accept that I am here living my own life."

Originally posted on SoundCloud on 31 December 2015, the breakdown of the track samples "Changes" by British dubstep DJ Bad. The song recently passed 90 million works in the music-sharing platform.

The Co-producer of Red, he explained how the song came to be in Genius' annotations for the record. "One day me and X were sitting at the crib going through beats, and he wasn't really rocking with any of them, and then the last one I showed him was to be overcome, and he was like, 'Red, this is it!,'" he explained. "In 15 minutes, it was done. X already knew the whole song in his head before he did it. He's creative as fuck. X decided to distort the entire track in one."

Throughout 2016, a year in which X spent, in part, behind bars, the song of the eardrum to shake under and shouted in chorus helped to grow a huge underground following. Fans love the song so much that recently got in legal trouble for blowing up in the church.

In January 2017, "Look At Me" was remastered and released as a single. Almost two months later, debuted at #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #34.

The song's notoriety reach new heights when Drake was accused of uprising X's flow for your Life More on the track, "KMT." Mostly one-sided feud helped propel X name of Hip-Hop in the headlines, and the intense concert performances (as well as getting KO-ed on the stage) helped to keep it there.
